Luna Base AI, developed by a Vietnamese company of the same name, can create software and websites in minutes, with a completion time of about 1-2 hours. Launched on May 19 and demonstrated at the Biztech 2025 event on June 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, Luna Base AI is an AI Agent designed for automated programming. The tool recorded 1,200 registrations after 24 hours of launch. In the first week, more than 2,300 projects were initiated and there are currently about 5,000 people using Luna Base AI.

Luna Base AI is based in Hanoi, with founders including Andy Pham - who used to work at General Motors, Verint, Talkdesk Builder.ai, and Michael Nguyen - who has experience building many domestic AI startups. According to Mr. Andy, the idea of ​​"a software creation tool for everyone" was nurtured a decade ago. However, traditional development was too complicated, expensive and inflexible, causing the project to be shelved. By 2023, when generative AI made great strides, Luna Base AI was born.

The core features of the tool are Luna Base AI Agent, which allows users to create intelligent agents that perform roles such as architecture design, programming, and automation; Luna Co-Console, a real-time collaboration environment for teams, integrating AI to assist in coding and live architecture suggestions; and Luna Copilot, an intelligent contextual assistant that helps write, refactor, and understand code in real-time.

Code-writing AI Agents are considered to be a new trend, even attracting the attention of technology giants. Last month, Microsoft and OpenAI both released automated programming AI Agents that can write, debug, query programming libraries, and run tests in just 1-30 minutes.

According to Fortune, many companies are pushing to replace programmers with artificial intelligence. In Microsoft's 6,000 layoffs earlier this month, programmers were the most affected group.
